Re: Too late for the jump
Lovely shots, again. The third is a fantastic capture, what were you shooting with? Always nice to see the SLR on the road too

1DSmkII with 24-70 f/2.8 L
I leave the EXIF intact so people can dig into the image and find it.
If you have Firefox, look for the EXIF Viewer add-in :)
Re: Too late for the jump
Excellent images Paul. I love the Hirvonen shot w/ the gravel flying - that definitely says rally. And the wide-angle pan on the Lancia(?) really makes that scene.

Cool, thanks for the top tip! Forgot to ask, where was the rally?
Re: Too late for the jump
Nice shots, Paul!
Wouldn't any of those drivers give you a ride?

Goodwood Festival of Speed.
A wood at the top of the hill past the finish of the hill climb has been converted over the last few years into a chalk base rally course, with a tarmac u-turn at the end of the outward leg (great for the press).
Public access is fantastic, despite the worst three words in the English language (Health and Safety) forcing barriers a fair way back. Adding crossings and shutting down the track every 30 minutes or so has made it more accessible.
Each year the drivers ask for the jump to be bigger, and so longer, I agree !
Re: Too late for the jump
No rides, Frog.
Unless you turn up with your own nomex suit and helmet.
Besides, most of the world champions' cars were driven by the champions !
So the motoring media has those seats :)
Re: Too late for the jump
Great shot of L.H. That's a passenger experience I'd never forgot, I am certain!
Are you sure those engineers aren't looking for a car? They look pretty happy don't they?
The Rally shots are great.
