Thank goodness for Photoshop

Hi all

Last week when I was in London I saw a piece of urban art I really wanted to add to my collection. The problem was that it was defaced (a recurring problem with wall art). I took a picture of it anyway, in the hope that maybe I could do something with it in Photoshop. It worked out pretty well I think.

The first is just as taken, and full frame. The second is the reworked version.

Thanks guys. Actually it wasn't as difficult as it looks - the wall was free of shadows and other things that would have made cloning trickier. Probably took me about half an hour.

singletracklovr - yes it is a little disturbing. Decent graffiti art often is - it makes you look twice and it evokes an emotional response.

frog - it is stencilled which is a technique used by many of the very best wall artists. This is a relatively unsophisticated one - I have seen some which are almost 3D in their effect.

Wow Mike great transformation in getting the writing off.

Is it like here in the states that if you don't like the person you would deface their work? Or sometimes it is just a random thing.

So they first make a stencil of their artwork and go around to put it on walls. Very cool, plus each one would be the exact same where ever it might be.

Mike your urban art pictures always catch my attention, I really like them.
