    Meet my puppy, Monty!

Sorry I haven't been here in two weeks- things have been a lot smoother since my sweet 16, so I've been taking time to draw and photograph more, lol.

About my photos, I'm not really sure what happened- my parents tend to leave stuff out.
Apparently, my dad was really upset about them and he called the photographer. For the actual party, there was another set of photos to be taken. It was a different photographer this time, and older man. Every single picture he took, he'd show my dad or I for approval, hahaha. It really upseted me that he took me away for my party for 30 minutes to photograph though. I can't just leavemy guests like that Hahaha, anyway...

I decided to venture into my all too familiar back yard and photograph anything. I ended up taking photos of my dog, Monty, a usual task. I don't feel any of these photos are anything great, but I know that I absolutely love my puppy, so PHOTO-OP! Hahaha.

I apologize in advanced for the large sizes, I'm getting these from my deviantART account.

This was taken late last March. Just a photo to show you his size at two months, lol

    Edit:
    Here are the rest.

Right now, Monty is 1 year and two weeks old. Two weeks ago we took him to the vet and he weighed in at 74.6 pounds- he's a big dog, but he's a very small German Shepherd, haha. We still love him anyway, very very much!

So now, show me your pet photos I'd love to see them!

He sounds a bit lite weight for his age. I have two dogs, one part Rot and part Pit and the other part Pit part Chow and they are both big. Cassie, the Rot/Pit is 120lbs and just turned 2, Gizmo the Pit/Chow is just 4 months old and 40 lbs. They get Purina Puppy Chow and it's done the job on building them up and they are very strong. Cassie doesn't need Puppy Chow any more but it's tough feeding them seperately. Hey, it's even helped the cat who weighs in at 20lbs!
    Cutie puppy btw.

Beautiful dog, Melanie. The German Shepherd is my favorite dog, even though I was mauled by a huge one when I was 9 or 10 years old.
In my building we were not allowed to have dogs, so I opted for a cat as my son loves animals and I wanted one around for him . . .and me. I had never cared for cats much, but this one we have has given me a new found appreciation for them . . . (I'm still really a dog person though sshhhh...)
Great looking dog, glad to see him.

    Re: Meet my puppy, Monty!

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with the outcome of your Sweet 16 party! However, I hope you enjoyed the party anyway.

I enjoyed seeing your photos of Monty - I really like the 2nd one. It's a very nice shot with good composition. I think your love for Monty shows through in the photos. BTW, I have 2 cats and they're my best models.

Keep up the good work - and post some more photos when you get a chance. The more practice you get from photography, the more your skills will improve. However, these are very nice shots.

eta: you might want to check out other people's pets here - maybe add a shot or two of Monty.

Got a pet? Post a pic!

He used to be very very big for a puppy, but the past 4 months, his growing has slowed down a lot. Sounds like you have very nice looking dogs! I think pit bulls are really adorable dogs, but in Dade-county, purebreds are banned. Doesn't stop people from having them though.

I actually use what we consider "organic" dog food. I've forgotten the brand but we don't give him any food or treats with by-products, or too much wheat or anything. We actually buy most his everything at our trainer's pet store, and it's all super organic products =P

    & Thanks

That's most people's favorite and I was wondering why because I did crop off his ears, lol. I've actually learned that rule but these shots weren't really meant to be anything purely tasteful. But thanks for letting me know anyway, haha.

Thanks! Eesh, that doesn't sound like a pleasant incident at all
Hahaha, cats are great pets because they're so independent. I don't own one, I don't think I ever will, though. Like you, I'm biased to dogs, haha. And I love the feeling of dependency with a dog, it's very assuring, so to speak.
    Thanks again C:

Hah, thanks. I enjoyed my party for the most part. As long as I'm with family and friends, it's going to be a great time.

& Thank you! I do like that one for the composition as well, haha. He's my best friend no matter what, how can I not love him? Hahaha. Pets are awesome, they double as companions and great models. It's interesting to capture your pets' lives, it always give you something great to look back to.

Yeah, I'll definitely be posting more, I'm not quite sure how often though. I haven't been photographing much these days- there's only so much you can shoot in your back yard. I do have a few church trips, a just-for-fun trip with friends, and a photography trip with my dad down to Butterfly World within the next two months though, so definitely expect some things, haha.

And thanks for redirecting me there! I totally missed that, despite how much browsing I've done around here. I'll find some older, and definitely better photos of Monty to put up there. Maybe even of my fish Clancy

    Re: Meet my puppy, Monty!

laws banning breeds are rediculous, it's the owners who are the problem, euthenize the owners and things would change  It also irks me that many "media" hear of a dog attack and they instantly blame it on Pitbulls or Pitbull Mix, yet your more likely to be hit by lightening or in a plane crash than being bit by a Pitbull. Additionally most Pitbull attacks are because of what the victim did to initiate the attack. They are actually loving dogs, but will defend themselves if they percieve a threat, some of that can be caused by improper training as well. No dog will just attack unless it is provoked somehow or sick, and it's up to the owner to know if the dog is sick. BTW, German Shepards are more likely to bite people than Pitbulls, but small dogs are more likely to bite than any big dogs. And a cats bite is worse than dogs when it comes to germs and infections.

Anyway on to other things, you can see pictures of my two monsters here: The family grew today

LOL, in my house I own her, she comes when I call her, she goes when I tell her to leave. She's pretty good though, even with the dogs. Kind of funny but if one of the dogs yelpd in pain she comes running and gets all motherly with the one that yelped. She is an instigator however, and a clown at times..... but I'm still the boss. Most of the time I don't have to say anything to her, she knows when she messed up. Right now she's curled up between the dogs and all three are snoring..... cats have a strange snore.... at least this one does.

Amen! It's also a lot of inbreeding, but dogs are prone to that when you're trying to get a purebred. German Shepherds apparently had the same problem 60 years ago with agression due to being inbred. If they were able to solve it, then why aren't they able to solve the problems with pitbulls yet? My friend's brother bought one to accompany his beagle while my friend didn't know it was illegal to own one, so their sister took it up. (She lives a few counties North of us.) They all think the puppy is the most affectionate thing ever. I totally believe you when you say they're loving. But yeah, every dog has their drive to protect. Depending on the breed and their training, they'll either be more inclined to protect others or themselves. Monty, he likes to protect us to the extent where my family and I can't even hug each other or else he'll bite. Not once have we ever been threatened, but he's always prepared to attack if ever necessary.

Your dogs look great by the way C: The little one is too cute.

Hahaha, great one. It reminds me of, well, my friend was telling a story yesterday of her cat, Pretty Kitty. She can't sleep with her because she'll knead anything and everything in reach on the bed, uncontrollaby. Including her hair and arms and legs. It's almost impossible to stop- she just goes into a trance. I've seen it once before, hahaha.

Beautiful cat, I really love it's colors! C:

    She's a classic "Naughty tortie"
Chases feet, kills toes if they twitch under the duvet.
    Has attitude in bucketloads.
Comes when she wants attention, climbs over everything.
Just had a videotape landslide with cat on top at the start, underneath at the end.
Right now she is mreeeeowing for attention, upstairs, while I'm downstairs on the PC.
She just can't be bothered to come downstairs, typical tortie cattitude
