    Wishes for MJS1973

Hi Everyone, Today at 1:00pm CST, our very own Michael, aka mjs1973, will be giving a presentation at a local event on outdoor photography. Let's everyone jump in here and give him a hearty good luck and wish him well on this, his first ever, presentation.

I just got home and found out he had a pretty hairy day yesterday!!!! One of his tires fell off his car. He and car are both o.k. and did no damage to anything or anyone, from my understanding, but I'm sure it has added a few butterflies to his already butterfly-filled stomach!!!!

Due to a bad couple of auto related incidents myself yesterday and the day before, I will be unable to make it to the presentation as I left part of my engine laying on one of our back roads, yesterday. Well, I'm 100% insured, no copay, so I get a new engine!!! I guess on this one, I was able to turn all this snow into ICE CREAM!!! HAHA

Anyway, MICHAEL, I've already sent my best wishes and good lucks, so, not literally, but theatrically, BREAK A LEG, BUDDY!!!!!
See you at the meeting on Tuesday, if I don't break the rental!!!!!
    Ken

    Re: Wishes for MJS1973

Thanks everyone. The presentation went pretty good. I got lots of complements after it was over. It was very small, and pretty informal. I didn't have the equipment or time to put together a slide show so I just took some prints to pass around. We sat around a table and I had a few things to talk about and let the people ask lots of questions. There were a couple other photographers there that were able to give other perspectives on things too. It lasted about an hour and it was a lot of fun for me. I would do it again if asked.

Rick, I had just picked up my truck from the shop after having new break lines put in. Apparently the mechanic forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one of my tires. Imagine my surprise when it passed me going down the highway!!! The tire managed to cross 4 lanes of highway before coming to a stop in the snow. It was very lucky that the tire didn't hit another car, and I was able to stop the truck in a fairly safe location. Nothing was really damaged, )other than the mechanics pride) and we were able to jack the truck up and put the tire back on. We had to borrow some lug nuts from the other tires to make it back to the shop. All in all, it sucked that it happened, but I'm thankful that it turned out the way it did. It could have been a lot worse.

    Wow that's lucky!

One of my coworkers had the same thing happen, but he rolled his car and made a few million dollars, courtesy of midas. THAT'S a golden touch, to be sure!

glad the presentation went well too...

WOW, I could use a few million dollars myself, but I was happy just to get everything home in one piece.

I had to listen to this when I got up this morning.
