If that is what I think it is it doesn't look like it will hold seeds anymore. I have put many miles on a planter very similar to that. Mine still works and now hangs on the wall of the cabin.
As far as the photo goes it is a little busy and might work better as a b&w however great capture of something probably long forgotten.
