im looking for the best digicam under $500 for fast action shots. thanks for your help.

For fast action shots, you may be hard pressed to find an affordable(under $500) digicam that can give you the shutter release speed need to catch the action. One of the biggest complaints on all of the non-DSLR cameras is the shutter lag and speed of focus. I'd suggest reading the reviews here and on dpreview.com to see if there is one that may be a little better than the others in this regard.
