You mean photoshop-wise? Basically just grabbed textures from other sources and did some painting/shading to attempt to make them look somewhat three-dimensional.
Good work but now I'm going to go to try and find something pleasant to look at before I go to bed.
Would you explain the title to my unimaginative mind?
This looks like a very modern approach to a very old tradition: Green Man! Very creative. I like it very much!

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
I always love viewing your imaginative approach to portrait photography. Maybe you see it as sloppy but I see creativity at it's max.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Very Cool.......Looks like he is half tree and half man.
That is kind of what Green Man is all about.

Thanks a lot for the comments, everyone. I posted here instead of in the critique section because, even though it's definitely not finished, I'm not sure I feel like working on it anymore. So I thought I'd just put it up here for kicks.
Frog - I hope you were able to have pleasant dreams afterall. lol The title... eh. Pertinent in lots of different ways. The turn of phrase is from a play.
realart - I never thought of that, but you're right!
Tom - haha, neither submerged nor floating. Just standing in the dark (a little-known variation of "sitting in the dark," second cousin to "whistling in the...")
Roger - sounds cool. Good luck retaining your sanity. I must have come up with a dictionary's worth of new four-letter words while working on this. Far beyond my ability and patience.
You know, Dray, I think it would be really interesting for you to takwe this technique to a full figure as well. Maybe do a short series. Not only people but animlas could be used. Hell! Even plants could be used (that has possibilities.)
I hope you DO take this a bit further because I think it is a stunner.
