This is an adult yellow-crowned heron, I don't believe I have seen one YET this year
AS to confusing..... SOMEBODY reply to the original and follw from there ;)

This is a film one, too. It's small because it was shot with a 300mm lens and cropped quite a bit.
Still, can you give him or her a name?

Wow! Just had to come in here and say that I've seen most of the bird images - and there are a lot of amazing shots here - many/most of birds I've never seen before.
It's a pleasure to see how well this thread is going!

YOU are the reason this thread was started, so chime in at 500 too ;)
Here's a female blackburnian warbler 2 feet from the ground. If anyone knows the behavior of said species, you will know that they are TREE TOP foraging birds :) She was in migration and I caught her feeding for her next 100 mile nocturnal flight. Yes warblers and most other songbird migrate at night and are tracked by dopler radar by a few people .
BTW.. This is a film scan from about 4-5 years ago?
