    T E S L A

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Tesla Dealership. Wow! Besides being the most efficient electric vehicle in the world...it's seriously fast.
    0-60 in 3.6 seconds.

http://www.teslamotors.com/ While the Roadster is assembled by Lotus in Hethel UK, it shares less than 7% of parts and assemblies with the Lotus Elise. Powertrain installation and final assembly takes place in Menlo Park, California.

The S.F. Bay Area is the center of all the buzz about this car company, this car. Sticker price as equipped... $147,000 USD.

I want one! Just started saving... I think I'll have enough money for the 2025 Tesla.

tesla roadster, based off the lotus elise! two thumbs up. sweet car but still not practical for my lifestyle (though it would probably be a second car for anyone anyways) . Jealous you have a dealer (i think they are only sold in cali?)

    There's a dealer in Seattle I see.
241 miles per charge in mixed driving ? Well I guess you're not going on a road trip.
It is cool and technology is being forced to meet the needs of the people.

Rick, actually if you start saving now, in 2025 you'll be able to afford a 2009 model.

Hmmm! environmentaly friendly, with all those nasty batteries and transportation costs of the shell. I don't think so.

    Re: T E S L A

I was seriously looking at one when it was almost affordable ($100000 = £50000)
But that was while they were having build/delivery issues.
Now the price is too high, but they actually sell to the UK.

Looked at a Radical over the weekend, they're building a one off electric version.
In production they estimated £72000 for a racecar with 0-60 in 2.5seconds and a flat torque "curve".
New LiFePo batteries and one motor for each rear wheel, no diff, just power shifting.
Even though it weighs in at 1100kg instead of 740 it's faster than a petrol engine.
    Torque and drivability wins.

Nice shots. I dig TESLA - unlike many of the other luxury/specialty cars, TESLA lets the consumers that come to car shows access to the cars. You rarely get that with the others...

    Thanks,yeah still very out-of-reach..but very cool. .

Today Tesla is in the news..bad news.
I work less than 3 miles from the site of the crash. The whole grid went down, it was a very chaotic day in Palo Alto.
