    Re: Where's Ruffus?

Last I looked, he was only a couple of people up from me...I'm waiting patiently. I think Rick (walterrick) should be getting him soon. Some nice fall colors already starting here for him!

I know that the order got a little mixed up after me, but I have not seen any posts for some time.

I never in my wildest dreams thought it would take this long for Rufus and his camera to make the rounds of his PR friends.

Very popular fellow, isn't he!!! I think we need to make him the PR mascot, once he finishes his journey!!!! That is if we can find him again!!!

Schrackman has already had him since we re-routed him when Schrack moved to Wa.

In 2007, Greg McCary started an around the world photo journey with Ruffus,(a little guy who enjoys parties and adventure and loves barbie dolls).
He began the thread, packed Ruffus in a box with a p&s camera and sent him on to the next person who had signed up. He gets way laid on occasion but eventually ends up with someone, who then shows us Ruffus in their part of the world.
Here is the official picture thread: http://forums.photographyreview.com/...ound+the+world .
I believe he only has a few of the original signees left though a few have been added along the way and due to popularity will probably start again someday.

    Re: Where's Ruffus?

    Hey folks,

As of a couple weeks ago Ruffus should be in the hands of Eric Manacsa, aka poker, in Reseda, California. I haven't heard back from him yet as to whether or not he's received Ruffus. I'll send him a pm to check up on this.

    Re: Where's Ruffus?

I must apologize for keeping him this long. Life has been a roller coaster lately and I did not mean to slow the momentum of this wonderful community project. I have taken pics but I don't have time to post them. I'm actually leaving the country tonight.

I have the 'package' boxed and ready but I'm waiting for WalterRick's address. I may have to ask a family member to send the 'package' if I don't hear from Rick in the next 6 hours.

    Re: Where's Ruffus?

Woohoo! I'm only two people away!

We should contact Canon about this. Maybe they'll put is in an ad. It's an impressive display of ruggedness for such a cheap little camera...assuming it's still the original camera.
