A new achievement for me today

Nothing too exciting, but I managed to pedal my 1000th mile of the year today. That's not a lot for many people but it's a first for me At the pace I'm riding I should get at least 2000 in next year. I remember when I first hit 100!

This photo was taken almost at the 1k mile point. Beautiful fall colors. I hate the orange bar tape, but it's what I have. It sort of matches the whole "fall" thing I guess

I knew I'd break the mark so I brough my point and shoot camera along for the ride. There were a lot of photographers out today. I stopped and spoke with one of them just to "shoot the s**t" (so to speak). He was very excited about the leaves and light, etc. Good to see

A little later I saw this gal with a fancy looking camera and likely a polatizer filter on the end of her lens and she was taking pictures of the color while walking! I hope she figures out better technique eventually..

I wanted to ride longer today but I got pooped sooner than I thought I would. I pedalled for almost 3 hours. It's fun to see all the different people while riding in a park with a bike path like this one (Busse Woods in Schaumburg, IL)

Re: A new achievement for me today

Congrats on the 1K mark Trevor!!! I haven't touched my bike since the MS 150 bike tour the first weekend in August. I have a new schedule at work now, so I have been going to the gym in the morning prior to work, and riding the stationary bikes tho. I know it's not the same, but hopefully I can stick to it and get myself in better shape for next year. I dropped close to 10 pounds in my first week back to the gym and I could notice a difference in my energy level almost overnight. We will have to get together sometime next year and go for a spin.

    Congrats!

    I have been hiking.

Thru the mall doing some shopping with my mother in law, and around town as we trick or treat
    I sleep, but I don't rest.

    That's so cool Trevor!

Nice bike too! I've got two road bikes myself.

Love the colors. Looks like a gorgeous place to ride.

    Congrats man!

That's a huge milestone to do on a fixed-gear. I'd question the health of your knees if you didn't have brakes on your sweet looking ride :^).

    Cheers,

    Ride, Captain, ride...

Nice job. It's been my experience with exercise that it's much better to be consistent with less than huge numbers than to try to do too much and then quit.

BTW, those colors and lighting are amazing. I would love to do a shoot in that spot,,,
