I assume the coach on the trailer was broken down, but why then try to drive it through the lanes at Eurotunnel?

You can see the gap where the lane sign ought to be, and the bar it used to hang from.
You can see the sign laying on top of the coach, still connected by its wires.
And all the coned off lanes which was why the tunnel entry lanes were backed up solid to the roundabout!
