Some more carpentry projects from me.

Here's a set of benches I built for Andrea's mom a few months ago. She had asked me to make a bench for her plants to sit on in front of the kitchen window so I designed (with Andrea's help) these benches which fit together like a puzzle. Hence their name "puzzle piece benches." I'm rather proud It took too long and cost too much of course but hey, it's a passion what are you gonna do?

Made of white pine, nothing special.

    I also made a built-in

bookcase for a client of ours. It was much more complicated than the benches, took WAY too long, cost WAY too much but hey. What're you gonna do? It's a passion

This one's done of birch plywood, with screen bead for edging. It is built into a cavity in her basement wall that she wished for a bookcase to be built into. I added adjustable shelving at her request and painted it to match the other trim in the house.

    Very nice Rick...

It appears that you are as skilled with a saw as you are with a camera. I'm impressed!!

Keep up the good work Nikon Samurai #4!

    You're invited!

You're invited to my house to build some bookcases. I can pay in Velvia that I'm never going to use

Nice stuff. Working with your hands is very honorable. That's how I got through college. I miss doing labor - sort of.

    Cool Talent!

Wow! You have lots of talent Rick! The bookcase is similar to what we have in our living room.....only yours is nicer...This is hard work, but a wonderful accomplishment when finished.

    Have a good day......

    Thanks all!

I must admit, these pictures are very flattering Seen up close they're less than perfect. But it's still nice to hear

Fly me anywhere and buy the materials! I can do it!
