a friend has passed shared photos

One of my friends who helped me when starting out with digital has passed after a long illness. We met in an msn group and though she lived only a 150 miles away we never met in person, though we emailed, talked on phone, and instant messaged.
She had no patience for bad photos entered in contests and was a fanatic about level horizons. Rubbed people the wrong way sometimes with her bluntness but I know she had a heart of gold. Actually gave me a Nikon 70-300 lens because she no longer used it.
We traded flower seeds when we posted a pic of something the other liked and she sent me samples of photoshop elements to try out.
    I'll miss her greatly.
Her photo passion was birds, flowers, critters, and nature in general.
I post a link to her photos and hope you have some time to look. No one did better at birds and flowers that I know of.

Re: a friend has passed shared photos

Thankyou, danic, Greg, Susan, Dave and Jeta.
She was always encouraging me with my photos especially when I first started with digital. Even got me to try for some bird shots a few times, though that wasn't my main interest.
Please be sure to view her photos as its sort of a memoial to her that I can offer.

Re: a friend has passed shared photos

    Frog,

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I find it amazing that we can make close friendships online, especially with those who share our interests, and give us encouragement and support. When I read your post, I thought of my friendship with Paul Fitz (MrFitz/StillMrFitz). He was a good teacher and a great encourager. He sent me some of his favorite photos and kept in touch for a long time after he stopped posting here. So, I know how you feel as it was a sad time for me when I found out he passed away.

I'm glad you have such good memories, and thank you for sharing about your friend with us.

    Liz

I know words don't mean a lot at a time like this but I'm truly sorry for the loss of a friend and mentor. I'm sure both of you will meet some day in some form.
