A photo to sum up your new years?

Anyone got any shots to sum up their new years?

About 300 photos got taken, not all by my self... and I think this one best describes the new years eve for me:

3 couples around my mate sharing their new years eve, and my friend is sharing it with a bottle which i then indulged in onces the photo had been taken..

The first one sums up the midnight hour. The second one sums up the rest of the night, from 9pm-3am.

    Photo-John's New Year

The first photo is New Year's Eve sunset looking east, up the street from where I live.

The second is me taking a lunch break today in the parking lot at Alta ski resort, where I have been spending the majority of my non-working hours. I think New Year's Day skiing is a fortuitous sign for my future. And I hope all of you spent your New Year's Day in equally meaningful activity

If what we do on New Year's Day is fortuitous of how we'll be spending the next year, that means I'll be doing a lot of house cleaning in my pajamas while listening to Bruno Pelletier on the stereo.

Contrary to how I normally feel about cleaning, I actually really, really enjoyed myself today.

Looks like someone snapped the shutter just as you were falling on your bum

Pretty scenery where you live now.

You're not Canadian. I don't think you're allowed to use the word, "bum."

We went and saw Big Bad Voodoo Daddy play. But we thought it was inside so we underdressed and ended up huddled around outdoor heaters all night. Here's my most inclusive shot, it doesn't capture the hijinx real well but it's a nice pic. This movie better captures the hijinx, imo. There's a bad word in it, just fyi. And, I was not drinking and driving ;)

I've got a small crew lined up ready to ski... I think I'll be lucky to get them as far as Flagstaff though I'll see about getting myself up to UT. That would be awesome.

How about a shot of an empty wallet? I didn't just get a new lens, but also broke my flash and vertical grip... Hell of a way to start the year.

There was no body awake at my house to take a picture as the new year came in. With the house empty for the first time in a week Joy and I both feel asleep waiting for the ball to fall. Oh well.....
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

No pictures, too much evidence... The band played so I had to "work". It has been several years since I've played that night and now I remember why!

Me? Well, it's amateur night but this was kind of a classy deal so that wasn't too much of a problem. It was a big event, so Sunday we loaded in, Monday afternoon we did soundcheck and started at 10, Tuesday we loaded out and tonight we unload back at the practice place. It's a lot of work but we were paid quite well (including on-site hotel rooms, and it's here in town!) so I guess I can't complain too much. But I'm still doing it anyway! Compare this to a summer festival or bar gig (show up, set up, play, tear down in one trip rather than over a few days) and it's a lot more work. Also just like with camera gear, cold equipment needs time to warm up - another reason for setting up a day early.

Glamorous, isn't it? I have played "dives" on New Year's Eve, and I know I have it pretty good! But truthfully, I'm more of a small get-together kinda person. Pictures are floating around somewhere, but nothing anywhere near the level of what Sebastian shot for us in '06.
