I agree with you about the plans being "better". But I also know for some couples/familes it's almost impossible to do anything other than what your family expects of you. And that sucks! I was in this position recently and wanted a location wedding like Loren. Wasn't going to happen though. Wanna know why? Because if we did then there were certain people that just wouldn't be able to come to the wedding. Fro some familes, weddings are more for the family's benefit than the couple....and that ticks me off.
the KEY word in my post was "I" . But yes, you are correct about "family's benefit " in some/most caes.
My family would follow me to the end of the earth and pay my way in the process(very close, loving family), Michelle's family on the other hand....... local church IF I ever trick her into marrying me ;) THEN off to some place where SHE can watch TV and I can watch nature
