    More moon

The thing that made this particular eclipse extra-interesting to me was Mars being right there, so I made a point of including it in some of my photos.
This one is a single shot that I developed twice from the raw file, once for the moon and once for the rest. Then I combined them with a layer mask in PS.

Excellent image Matt, incorporating Mars lifts this a notch or two

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Re: More moon

Thanks! I wanted to also include a little bit of Earth but the angle was tough with the moon being so high. I got some shots of our town with the moon above but I had to shot so wide the moon ends up being an insignificant spot in the sky.
For the next one (October, I think) I want to get a mountain or something with it. I also shot some pretty straightforward moon shots but they just look like everyone else's.

Very very nice!!!! It was cloudy here that night, which was quite disappointing.
