    Fun and Games at Boomers

We took our Pathfinder scouts to Boomers (a game park/arcade) as a reward for their efforts this past year. I was going to post these in the sports forum but these don't really qualify as sporting events. Shot mostly with my battle tested 70-200 f2.8L IS (my new favorites the 24-105 f4L and 50 f1.4 just didn't have the range for this).

Looks like a lot of fun Leon. I enjoyed all three threads. Thanks for including us in the excitment of the day.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Re: Fun and Games at Boomers

Thanks for looking OT. I'm finding myself really enjoying being the deputy director of this Pathfinders scout club. These boys were getting severely competitive, which is not a bad thing, but the way it affects their interaction needed guidance at times. When one boy would ask for a second chance during a flub at the minigolf, none of the boys would give until I asked them if Jesus would offer grace and a second, third, fourth, and on chance. After that, they let each other get second chances and cooled their competitive instincts and started cheering each other on instead, and it carried through the day. Later I reinforced the lesson of grace with them, and used a personal example from my life when I got pulled over by a CHP officer for speeding, and he let me off with a warning-forgiveness undeserved and unearned but given freely. It's a lesson that's hard to teach sometimes to kids, and opportunities like this are too good to pass up, but I need to be aware when they present themselves and not be too wrapped up in taking photos :-)
