This place is a zoo today.

Literally.. Beautiful Autumn colors here in Saltyvilles Hogle Zoo. Here's a few from yesterdays visit. Most of the big kitties are on loan to another zoo while their house gets an extreme makeover, but still plenty of coolness to be found. Enjoy,

    A few more..

The obligitory Turkey shot, as Thanksgiving is upon us. We were talking about how yummy he'd be and I think he heard us right as I was snapping the shutter.

Great shots, Scooter. The look on the birds are comical-great timing. Great timing on the viper(?) too, with his tongue out. Thanks for sharing.

Some very nice images here. I love that shot of the elephant, very creative and captivating. And the kittie has a grerat expression. Well done.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Beautiful shots - I really like the lines in the giraffe shot. What lens were you hauling around to get such close pics?

Don't quote me, but I think the snake is a timber rattlesnake?

Thanx for all your comments. Lenses used were a 50mm macro for the frog and (Paul you are correct) Rattler. The rest were with the trusty 70-210mm f4 Minolta, which very nicely becomes a 300mm f4 with the crop factor. All handheld w/antishake on, ISO 400.
