    Making a friend...

Went to the outskirts of town today to try and get a few country shots and play with my XTi. I parked my car on the side of a dirt road next to a barbed wire fence and this horse came to meet me from over 100 yards away. I spent a bit of time feeding her some nice green grass and stroking her neck. I noticed that she seemed to twitch when I scratched a particular area of her neck. Can horses be ticklish I wonder?

Yes, they are ticklish!! If you ride you know there are places on their flank you need to be very careful of or you may find yourself airborne or worse! One horsy aquaintance tickles the Belgians behind the knees to get them to exhale so the cinches can be adjusted for the carriage harness.

How interesting! I guess you can tell I don't know much about horses. I've actually tried to stay away from them most of life on account of a little mishap early in my childhood. But since having taken care of my ex-boss' horses the year before I've grown a bit more fond of them.
