Not quite what I was expecting... ;)

But it's a very nice creative pic. Love the Holga touch!

Re: Love On The Beach - With My Holga....

    Hi Brian,

This is pretty cool. I'm sure your wife loves it too. Wish I had thought of it first. ;)

I hope you don't mind if I take this chance to ask a Holga question. I noticed most of your Holga shots have more vignetting or flare than this one. Did you do anything to prevent that here (such as tape) or were the conditions just right? This one seems to have less of the typical Holga anomolies. Just curious.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Re: Love On The Beach - With My Holga....

    Paul,
    To answer your question..
I do the same thing to all of my Holgas, which I do when I load them.
With black duct tape, I tape the sides and the top and bottom on the back.
On the front I have two small pieces, that stay there unless they aren't in the best of condition. There is a seam along between the lower part of the body and the viewfinder.

You have to understand something about Holga's. The effects are random, that is they don't always happen and they don't always happen in the same places. How it all happens is all a part of the mystery and serendipity of the Holga!

Thanks for the explanation, Brian. I was just curious about how much control you have over these effects. That answers my question. I got one for Christmas, but haven't had a chance to develop the first roll yet. I'll post something eventually.

    Nice shot!

    Right On!

Holgas aren't about "control" and "perfection". They are more about fun, serendipity and the mystery of it all...
