I feel like being in New York City again.
Anyone want to have a 3rd annual NYC Gathering this summer?

ALASKA would have great fishing, eagles, barrow's goldeneyes nesting , tufted puffins, grizzleys.... but i can't make it :(

to be honest, NYC has too many people all 4 seasons, but the bum action around the B&H area is killer year round! were else can you watch herion sick junkies waiting for methadone and walk 3 block and buy more film :)

spring and early summer are nature time, mid summer is fledging bird, bear cub time, fall is migration, winter is ducks.... but i may be able to trip over a few rude new yorkers if given fair warning

I thought I could count on you guys :)
I'm NOT sure the summertime id the best time to be there ;) But I'm willing to bear it all out if you are ;)

Honestly, Alaska is a bit far out of my price range right now: the same reason I missed you guys in Miami. NY is a 5 hour drive for me from DC it makes it much more doable.

I think we should WALK AROUND TAKING PICTURES THIS TIME rather than just eating dinner together and saying goodbye. Just as I was getting to know you guys, the night was over :(

So I first suggest we plan at least a half-day of shooting.

And please if you guys decide to go to Alaska, please post pictures :)

You'd give up...
RATS WITH WINGS for grizzleys?!

COMO?!

I think you should come to NYC and party with us the real wildlife ;)

Woo-hoo!
I was hoping you'd say yes! Let's get out and do some shooting this year, eh?

I may even let the little lady come...

I dunno, Rick. Seems you guys tasted NYC Lite when you decided to have pizza in the "NEW & IMPROVED" Times Square last time. That area was a lot more fun in the 80's when you couldn't swing a dead junkie without hitting a hooker or a sleazeball handing out flyers for some nearby peep show... :D :D

Seriously, I'm in for a NYC get together. I'm not sure summer would be my preference, but if that's when you guys decide, I hope I can make it.

i'm pretty sure i'm in(but remember i'm not keen on cities or crowds)

not to sound crazy... but the only thing in NYC that i'd shoot would be bums, hookers, and the people steve mentioned ;) buildings do nothing for me but provide heat/AC :D

central park has birds, the great state of NJ has the statue of liberty(and you thought that was a ny trademark... liberty state park exit 14B off nj turnpike HAHAHA or staten island SHHH)

Hookers, sleaze and NYC.
Sounds like a tour you could make some money on, Steve :)

I don't want to do the same ole same ole this year with tourist things but I don't want to be hanging out in the ghetto all weekend either.

Maybe...

Statue of Liberty in the day time, take in a strip show at night? That way everybody wins ;)

From all corners of the globe
and in all seasons they gather :)

It sounds like summer is a bumb time, how about fall?

I agree, I'm waiting for the Native's input as well. They always know the cool stuff to do ;)

I'm sorry to hear you guys are going to Hawaii. And not taking the Viewfinder Board with you. I guess we'll get over it.

Geez,
Between you and Steve, I'll be lucky to get out of New York alive!

Or at least with my chastity! ;)

Hope you can make it man. Just remember: if you start feeling claustrophobic, just close your eyes and imagine yourself soaring like a pigeon over the city :)

Update
Hey Penny & Gene

October would work for me. However:

I just found out my mom might be working for a month on Long Island in April. I thought about going to then. Would April be too early? For anyone? I'll post something more substantial when I find out for sure if she's working then. That way I'll kill 2 birds :)

Thanks for reviving the post. I think Otober would be fine. Whatever we do, let's go shooting together this time!

What about my Partner here! Hey Charles
It's early in the season........why not take this opportunity to visit the Big Apple? You've been mentioning a trip from time to time........and it's not too far from Philly.

Is it?

It's an awfully long time from now to April...I have all kinds of things to say so we'll see  :D

I talked to my in laws and I think we'd be coming from CT which makes it a 2 1/2 -4 hour ride from Hartford (depends who's driving) and I figure we can drive in way early Saturday and drive home late in the evening ...maybe pull of an overnight....we'll see who we can round up.

My mom in law said o.k. already so...it's a matter of getting a firm date....

Sounds great...
Ugh, except for the "taxes" part! (that was my first year technically self employed so I have to pay the 15.3% self-employment tax :( )

Everything else sounds like it's coming along nicely for you guys :) In the words of the A-Team's Hannibal: "I love it when a plan comes together!"

After-party at the Waldorf Astoria?! Wow, how nice of you guys to offer! ;)

I'll get moving on the weather, but first I need to have a confirm from momma.
