    Hungary part 2 (by DSLR)

Second part of the Western Hungary trip. My back was better so I put the RX100 pocket camera away and went back to the D300.
What a relief to have a proper viewfinder again!

    2. Fortress interior at Sumeg with the canons positioned to fire on the attacking Turks. No flash. In fact I didn't use any of the ones with flash in my final selection

    3. Koszeg on a quiet day. The distortion is because I pointed the camera upwards (again). Back in the days of slide film this one would have been a nightmare to process but now there is Raw I can control the excess scene contrast

All pictures D300 + 18-200 or Tamron 11-18 shot in RAW and adjusted until they looked like what my eyes had seen

Such a big/little world. That church interior without flash is pretty amazing.

The D300 is just right for this sort of trip. For interiors it was often at 3200 ISO which is just about enough for the zoom lenses I was using.

I made some big prints last night to go on the wall. Slight disappointment - they are nice but the D800 blows the D300 away in terms of clarity.
