    Boredom & Blossoms

I got quite bored on Sunday and began experimenting with my new lights and stuff I found in the yard. What do you think of these?

I think the selective lighting on #1 comes close to being a super image, me thinking that it's just a bit too dark at the flowers. #2 has some great detail and color & #3's DOF is too shallow for my tastes, but nice nevertheless.

Thanks Charles - I always appreciate your comments - Where would place the DOF if you were taking this photo?

#3 ... note that the only sharp area is the very edge of the flower's petal. I'd like to see more of the flower in focus, while the rest remains nicely blurred. That's just my own personal preference, though. Nice work, Andy.

Thanks again - I will try shooting some more of these this weekend. The pitcher came out nice - but all I had was silk flowers for it - I think that if I'd had some nice real roses and greenery, they would've come out much brighter.

I think the silk flowers look nice...just needed a little more light on the right side at the flowers. I like the set-up.
