    The colors of fall

I couldn't wait for the colors of fall to come to me, so I went to them. Amy and I jumped on our motorycycles and took off on Friday for Porcupine Mountain State Park in Michigan's U.P. It was about a 325 mile ride north from where we live. The weather was beautiful, and the colors were amazing. These were all taken with my DRebel. I also used a polarizer, and I was able to borrow a Tiffen color enhancing filter for the trip. I think I used both for the last two shots, and I didn't use any with the first two. I didn't take too many shots with this camera. I was having too much fun with my film camera. Some of the slides should be back this afternoon or tomorrow. The Kodachromes will be a week or two yet. I let Amy use the DRebel, and it didn't take her long to fill up a 1gb card.

    Tim,

It was a beautiful trip. Way too short, but we enjoyed the time we had. We spent all day Saturday (my birthday) in the park, just enjoying the colors. I wanna go back!!!

    Re: The colors of fall

I got most of my slides back tonight. One roll of Velvia 50, and two rolls of the new Velvia 100 Professional. I have to say, I like the 50 better. Seems like the 50 has just a bit more "pop" than the 100. I will have to take another look tho. I did realize a little too late, that the 2 filter combo was causing some vignetting with the wide angle lens I was using. Oh well, live and learn.
