    Hey Lavalamp, Thanks for the osprey!

    I'm glad you recently posted your photo of your backyard osprey. It enabled me to identify an osprey I saw this weekend. A large bird was flying overhead with a branch in its talons. I saw it land on top of some utility poles, so I biked closer to check it out. It then swooped close to me and broke a branch right off a tree in midflight - no deadfall for her nest! The osprey must have just been starting to work on a nest as I could only see one branch. I'll have to check back on it in a couple days. It would be very cool to be able to see it fishing in the nearby river. Hopefully this will lead to some nice photo opportunities.
