Re: Greg McCary in serious accident
I have one and hopefully my last surgery coming up next month. I have scar tissue in my throat where that treach was located. I only have a very small opening to breath through. It only really bothers me when climbing steps, steep inclines ect. I will have surgery on March 26 and should be in Emory Hospital 4 to 5 days and then another week walking the lake taking pictures and then back to work.
The procedure is to go in and remove 3/4 of an inch of my throat. Ouch. With all I have been through I am sure this will be nothing. Thanks for all of the support, you will never know what it means to me to have such wonderful friends here at PR. God bless you all.......I love you.......
Maybe Liz can unsticky me real soon.

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident
Praying for you and your family even now. Would you post again right before surgery day so we can "hold your hand" through this? I'm sure you're ready to get past all this.

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident
I will try and post just before the surgery again thanks for all of the support.

Oh man, I had no idea there was still work to be done. I'm sure we'll all be pulling for you on the 26th. I know I will.
You've made it through so much that I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I'm confident that you'll get through this, too. Here's a hoping the surgery is a complete success and that you'll be back stronger than ever.

John is right, Greg. You are an inspiration to our community here as a photographer and a human being.
We keep you in our thoughts and prayers and hope that everything comes through well to the final stages of treatment.
Your a fine example of a good man, Greg.
All the best to you.

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident
Thanks PJ, Dray, Gary, I would be lying if I told you I wasn't scared. The Dr at Emory is about the only one in these parts that will do a surgery like this. I hope to have a couple of shots put back to post during my recovery.

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident
Just opened this thread again and saw your latest post about a follow up surgery. Sorry that you are having to go through another invasive procedure. I know I for one will be pulling for you and keeping you in my daily thoughts and prayers. Your internet friendship and your inspiring images mean a lot to me, I look forward to the day you can put this whole terrible part of your life behind you for good.

Greg,
I don't know if you will see this before you leave for the hospital for your surgery Friday. I just wanted you to know that you will be in my prayers all day tomorrow and Friday.. Tomorrow is a special day of celebration in the Catholic Church. We celebrate the "Annunciation" which is the day that the Angel appeared to Mary to announce that she will be the mother of Jesus. There will be special prayers and Masses, so I will have a special day and opportunity to pray for you all day tomorrow and Friday. And I will continue to pray for a quick recovery.
I know many others have said they will be thinking about you, and praying for you, too. God bless you, Brother! Please let us know as soon as you can - how you're doing.
Liz
