I have no idea what I'm up against, but I can only imagine there will be some real tight competition as this thing brings in a whole lot of entries from all over.
Brian is up against someone, as drg says who must be getting a lot of support from Illinois!

I just discovered something on Brian's competition site. I just voted, but then I started thinking wait a minute, it hasn't been 24 hours. So, I went and looked and voted again to see if it would let me -- it did. So I voted again, and again. No 24 hour restriction! How can that be?? Does the contest boil down to who will sit there and vote the longest? Is First Place Dude the only one voting for himself?? Are there rules to this contest? is this a Y2K 2010 edition glitch? or is it just whoever can stuff the most in the e-ballot box?

I'm all for playing by the rules -- but if the system allows for repeated voting.....that appears to be the rule...

That happened to me when I placed ny very first vote. I voted but it did not redirect me or take me to a results page and so i thought nothing happened. I then voted again and again. i think i was able to vote about four times before it finally timed me out. a day later i tried it but ever since then it only let me vote once. i guess the site does hiccup sometimes and glitch but I don't think its a regular thing.
Hey, if it allows then go for it. I'm sure the leader there could be benefiting from the glitches as well.

The Facebook contest, is one where the grand prize is a new wardrobe, something I could really use.
Not quite a month ago, I started a new job working at a Veteran's Hospital, after being unemployed for 10 weeks. Before that I had struggled with finding the right job.

In the last hour or so, the top three changed and changed again.
The closest I have been is in second for the Facebook contest.
I know the votes are close so a surge would probably put me at the top, followed by a sustained effort would keep me there through the end of the contest on 15 January.

Tried voting for Brian more than once, even though I am not from Chicago, the system let me vote as often as I wanted but would not add to the vote total. I guess the site does not like Floridians. :lol:

Yes, you were in first for a few hours.
This is the Fishy Kid contest eh? Well then, it seems this guy in first now is pretty fishy.
It took a couple of weeks for him to get 680 votes and then today in a matter of just 5 hours or so he has nearly doubled that.
Well, we'll keep putting them up for you, but something seems . . .fishy. :mad:

Yes, it certainly does. I saw the same thing happen. I'm rather angry about it as well. :( I sat there listening to something on the computer and thought well, I'll just vote for Brian repeatedly while I'm listening. So I did.

Now, if First Place Dud wants to do that as well, fine, I have no problem with it. But over 500 votes in less than 3 hours?? (I was watching) It's impossible for one or two people to sit there and continuously vote and accomplish that. First Place Dude must be some kind of community organizer.

Meanwhile, the Facebook one continues, and I could use your help there.
I have gotten an incredible amount of support for it within Facebook, including a few poeple who have posted something on their personal blogs about me.

There are a lot of kind and patriotic people out there and I am grateful for their support.
