The cardboard boat "Tokyo Surprise," crewed by two ninja, with a cardboard model of Tokyo on its bow, was mercilessly attacked (and torn to shreds) by a guy dressed up as Godzilla moments after the start of the race.

This was simply the greatest moment I have had the pleasure to shoot.
