Gleason's Boxing Gym - weekend photos

Hello all - this weekend was the DUMBO Arts Festival in Brooklyn, NY. Gleason's Boxing gym, where I trained for Golden Gloves briefly a few years ago, closed to workouts all weekend to turn itself into a gallery of boxing photography and art. It turned out to be a really great, full show - very well received with excellent images. I peronsally had 3 photos up and hung around quite a bit - long enough for me to grab the cameras out of the bag and start snapping. I shot 2 color & 2 black and white rolls with the Holga (so it will be awhile before I can post those) but I thought I'd share what I took with Rosemary's Baby with you diggitle instant gratification junkies.

    Round 2

Here are a few more - as you can see, the light pouring in through the legendary lettered windows onto the chipped blood red walls just makes you want to take tons of gorgeous color shots.

    And the bell rings

Here are some pics of the actual show. My work is shown in the first photo under the 3 speed bag platforms. A neat coincidence is as I hung my photos, I realized the the boxing poster in between the center and right photograph actually had a photo that I took of a boxer several weeks ago. Hurray! In the photo showing the rings, I used to spar in the ring peaking into the left of the frame. The middle one I would shadow box/warm up in, and is the ring where I got *injured.* Ah, memories! The nostalgia of pain. The ring peaking into the right of the frame is the wrestling ring.

Those are the ones I want to see!
