I was LOA because of my mothers illness...I expected to be gone much longer...it was not the case though...glad to be back.

I would be very unlikely to attend if it's at the beginning of the month. There's a bicycle tradeshow I have to go to at that time every year. It eats up a good 2+ weeks of my life every year - usually the last week of September and the first week of October. So the end of the month would be my preference. And I would really like to go.

Am I alone in thinking it's a bit too early for me to decide? I think maybe later in the month might be better, but I want to be sure to catch the colors in the Smokies... ?

Can we vote again after the new year?

Anytime is good for me. There is a good chance that my girlfriend and I will be living in Knoxville next year (depending on what grad school accepts her). I know the colors are about perfect here in Georgia right now, and we in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. So if you want color I would vote for the end of October, but its a crapshoot every year....last year we didn't even have a fall. The leaves were green one day, and gone the next.

This is exactly why I thought the idea of planning a Gathering a year in advance was a little far-fetched. I hardly know what my schedule and commitments are going to be week to week, let alone that far ahead...

not to early for us losers that have no lives -------hint: I didn't put a deadline on here for the poll....just giving those who like to really plan ahead to start thinking about it and those who live more adventurous and foot loose and fancy free lives, can vote when they get around to it....
