    This is Extreme

Aaron shared this with me last night. Who ever said man couldn't fly??? This might belong in Off Topic. But the Mod can move it if needed.

That is insane! Thanks for sharing.

It reminded me of a stunt man named Jeb something. I remember reading about his plans to use one of those flying suits, and land on the ground, without using a parachute. Not sure where he's at with that one yet.

    Re: This is Extreme

Extreme, now how about some stills in sports forum ?
I think at 90kg I'm a little fat for this, and being pooh bear shape not tigger shape I'm hardly aerodynamic - I leave it to someone else to do the jump and chase shots.
I'll come and get the panning shots from the hairpin as you whizz past...

It's hardly flying though, more a controlled fall.
Now if someone makes a suit where you can get lift that will be really interesting

    Re: This is Extreme

A friend of mine was telling me about these wingsuits the other day, but this is first time I've seen it. I thought it sounded pretty extreme, possibly lots of fun if you're a skilled skydiver / basejumper. But after seeing that guy skimming the cliff edge, I changed my mind. Not extreme. Insane is a better word. The phrase "death wish" also comes to mind.

    Thanks for the link.

    Re: This is Extreme

IIRC this suit was developed by a French Pilot several years ago. There are a bunch of other videos out there, but just for Wombat, here's a Finnish guy that took it one step further and strapped jet engines to his ankles

    Re: This is Extreme

    Oh wow, powered flight !
Twin engined though, that must be difficult to set the throttles equally.
    What !?
Fuel in hot water bottles strapped to his belly !
Does he not know how to spell fear ?

If he can maintain flight level with those engines, then it'll only take a small upgrade to climb and I shudder to think of his max speed in a dive ... he's my kind of insane

    Re: This is Extreme

I've seen guys in wingsuits before, even saw the video of the guy in a wingsuit with small jet engines attached. But skimming the ground like that is insane. One touch, a slight miscalculation, and it is OVER!

It looks like fun, but I love life too much to get that crazy...
