    Gallery pictures (an apology)

I did not realise until last night that people comment on photos in the gallery, so to all who have commented thank you very much and apologise for not responding. some of the people were old clicker, old timer, and a few others, sorry I did not write all the names down and I'm going from a poor memory cell.

I went in last night to clear out a load of crud and old photo's and found photo's from other people which I had edited with their permission, so I apologise for not deleting them sooner.

From now on I will monitor my gallery for comments.

    Regards
    Roger R.

You bring up a good point that I think many of the members who hang out in the forums don't realize. The gallery is a whole new world of photo sharing on this site. There are lots of great photographers who only post in the gallery, and not on the forums. If you're not looking at the gallery, you are missing out on a lot of great photos and photographers.

Mike makes a very good point about there being a number of very fine photographers that don't post in the forums but are regulars in the Gallery contributing images and comments on a regular basis. If you haven't visited the Gallery in a while please do. If you want to catch up in a hurry on a few of the finest the Gallery has to offer I invite you to check out my favorites list. I will pick a dozen of so each week that I really like and add them to my favorites so that I can review them when every I want. Photo John and others do the same thing check out their favorites as well.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

A member's favorites gallery should be easier to find. You need to go to their profile page to find the link. Check mine out. I've been putting stuff in there for a few years now. There are a lot of photographers who post only on the gallery. And there are others, myself included, who post both on the gallery and in the forums. If you check my gallery you'll find there are lots of photos that were never shared on the forums. You can also upload at high-res and include lots of information with gallery photos. It's a whole different world in there

I went and looked at mine. I will just add my apology here, too. Thanks, dana, shootme, frapuchi, and any others I may have missed. I will visit mine and others way more often.

I did and do. My problem is with the time. The galleries are huge. I do really like that bigger can be posted there so I can really enjoy many of the fine works there.
I keep meaning to spend a couple of hours at least going through them once in a while but having ADD, I get distracted easily.

    OT John,

Thanks I will try and find time to browse both in future. Problem at the moment I only get time to look and comment in the forums in short bursts.

I will start with your favourites shortly.

    Re: Gallery pictures (an apology)

yes the gallery is quite large, but worth the time browsing the gallery , many of the photos are really outstanding work

    Here's a tip:

you can be notified by email when someone makes a comment to your photo

there is an email update link that needs to be clicked after uploading the photo,
it is small text after the heading Additional info, and before the EXIF information section.

Sometime I enjoy just watching the photos, others I like to read all the comments in the forums
