Hey everyone,

I've been gone a long time, and I've seen a lot of crazy things since the last time I checked this board. But after 57 days of traveling (mostly in Chile, but a little bit in Argentina and Bolivia), I'm settled in in Santiago.

It all began in late December with a few days in Santiago with some friends, a good New Year's party on the roof of a building downtown, and then we were off to Villarrica National Park, to climb one of the most active volcanoes in South America (and afterwards slide down on our butts for about 4,000 vertical ft), hike in Torres del Paine National Park (Chile), Los Glaciares National Park (Argentina), La Campana National Park, the Atacama Desert, the Chilean and Bolivian altiplano (including the spectacular Salar de Uyuni--although at this time of year it's completely covered in about 6 inches of water), and finally Lauca National Park in the very north of Chile.

Yes, I did get my D70 STOLEN in Viņa del Mar, but hooray for backup cameras, and hooray for camera insurance! So I had to revert back to the days of film for my trip to the northern locals, but I think I got some good shots anyway. I have a new D70 on it's way hopefully. I won't have any pictures online for a while (sorry!) but I'll do the best I can.
