    Calling all UK members
Okay UK people, where are you located and would you be interested in a meeting in a convenient loaction.

How far are people prepared to travel and any limitations (e.g. Public transport)?

    Weekend or Weekday?

I will look at finding picturesque place, no promises and an eatery (No macdonalds!).

Send me your details either as a response here or in an e-mail to roger.reading@readingr.com or a private message.

Anyone visiting the UK on the dates we setup are always welcome.

Hi Roger .. you know I'm up for it - anywhere in the SE really. Just that (being a clerical type gentleman) Sundays are usually out. Most other times can be arranged though.

    Cheers

I'd love to be included in the meeting too but what makes it difficult for me is having so many kids!
Plus I don't want to go into central London.

XD. A Bit far? like... across the Atlantic ocean far. Or is it the Pacific? I've never been good with oceans.

I think there are like 3 or 4 members from around or in Ohio.

My Air Force son will be in Korea for a year, then he will be stationed in England for 4 years. So, in about 12-24 months I will be ready to join a UK gathering. That would be fun and I will certainly put it on my long range plan list. Hmm I guess that means I need to hang around more. Though Waltrick, PhotoJohn and a few others can verify that I'm ok. :D

Yeah, she'll do :) Nice to see you again Deborah. How's the business?

    ...

I'm gonna leave this up for another week, unless you guys can pull something together to show you've got some plans in the works.

Sorry, my fault - work and sailing got in the way.

Location - at this point is in the Godstone area just off the M25 which is about halfway from Paul and Alison. The final location will be dependant on the weather - there are a few locations we can use:

Quebec House and the Emmetts Gardens
    Hever Castle
    Haxted Mill
    Bough Beech Reservoir - wildlife
    Weir Wood reservoir - wildlife

Because of Paul and my Diary it looks like mid to end September so how about 15th September?

    Well,

Its getting close to the meet so I thought I'd start getting the locations for meeting up Organised.

    Plan

Because of the vagaries of the UK weather I suggest we meet for coffee at 10:30 at

    The Castle Inn
    Chiddingstone
    Edenbridge, Kent
    TN8 7AH

Then we head off (DRY WEATHER) to Bough Beech Reservoir for some wildlife and landscape photography - it's about 1 hour's mile walk according to the web or we can all pile into cars and drive there.

Alternative is Hever Castle wheer there is a Patchwork & Quilting Exhibition, demonstrations, and stalls. - There is an entrance fee

Individual Rates Castle & Gardens Gardens only
    Adult £10.50 £8.40
    Senior Citizen £8.80 £7.20
    Child (5-14) £5.70 £5.40
    Family Ticket £26.70 £22.20
(2 adults/2 children or 1 adult/3 children), not applicable to groups.
December - Castle only Adult £5.00 Child (5-14)

Meet up for lunch at 13:00 - not booked anything yet so need rough numbers of who's coming.

And if Hever castle is National Trust, I'm a member.
Don't know if that helps or not.

Will you be on your own?

My boss decided she doesn't want to spend time with me and my pervy camera (nick name for the 100-400mm given by my daughter)

Forgot the link to Hever Castle

SWMBO is going to stalk drivers (so what's new?) and forgot to tell me about the race.

I am so upset that I couldn't make it due to financial difficulties.
I received a statement from my Bank this morning and found out that someone had a spending spree, of over £200, on a cloned version of my card in Nottingham!
Thankfully the bank will give the money back to me but it's all too late. The meeting will be done and dusted :cryin:
And I was so looking forward to shooting some nice portraits for you all.
    Maybe next time.
