Can tight hairstyles cause permanent damage?

I usually wear my hair in braids or tight ponytails, and lately I’ve noticed some thinning near the edges. Could these hairstyles actually cause permanent hair loss if worn frequently? Has anyone experienced this and found a way to reverse or stop the damage?

I’ve worn tight styles too, and sometimes I wonder if that’s made things worse. I guess if the scalp feels sore or irritated, it might be a sign. Hard to say if it leads to permanent damage, though. I’ve read mixed opinions on that, so I’m still figuring it out.

This is possible, especially if you wear them often. I used to wear tight buns every day, but now my hair has thinned at the temples. This is called traction alopecia. I had no idea that it could become permanent if I didn't do it early on. If you want to know more, there is a detailed article on hair growth on the https://dsddeluxe.de/en/blog/hair-lo...ealthy-hair-92 website, and it helped me change my habits.
