    backdrops

I am interested in finding out the easiest and least expensive way to use a backdrop when i take photos of my kids. I have some good shots of them, but if we are not outside, the walls in my house do not cut it as a nice background. What colors are the best and where can i find them? Does B&H sell them? What kind is best. Thanks in advance for any info.

B&H does sell what you're looking for, or you could get creative and make your own. Here is a link to a thread that Andy posted a while back telling us how he made his own for less than $30.

    Studio and Lighting Forum

You should post this on the Studio and Lighting Forum: http://forums.photographyreview.com/...splay.php?f=11

There are all kinds of backdrops. What works is as much a matter of your style and photographic taste as anything else. I think you need to tell us more about what kind of results you want. It would also help if you told us what was wrong with the walls in your house. Often the lighting is a bigger problem than the background. Personally, I prefer to shoot outdoors. I don't really like artificial backgrounds. But like I said, that's as much a matter of personal taste as anything else.

    I use...

I use Savage seamless paper backdrops. They work for my purposes, and come in black, white, gray, and colors. You can get 2 widths, and B&H does sell them. Just click on the B&H link on this site and search for "seamless backdrop." The smaller rolls are around $20, I think, and you can just use wide masking tape to tape it up - or some other method depending on the finish of your wall. There are also stands in incremental prices to hold the seamless - I have the $120 collapsible with the carrying case. Hope this helps!

    Re: backdrops

Thanks for all the replies... Photo John, it is not the condition of the walls, but rather the color of the wallpapers and paint..We have some dark walls and many textured paints on the walls. It often looks busy when I take picture. I just want to get good pictures of my four boys(if I can get them to stand still long enough) and it is just too cold to be outside right now. I am sure the lighting is a problem but I would like a solid backdrop ( and a rope to keep them all tied together). Thanks for the suggestions and I am going to look at B&H right now. Thanks for all the help.
