Hamilton's Lister Block has always been a favourite place for me to photograph. Built in 1924 in the wake of the fire that destroyed Lister Corner. Lister Block included the first L shaped arcade, and lots of space for retail stores and professional services in the upper floors. As the economy slowed and Hamilton felt the hit the Lister Block was closed in the late 1990s (or early 2000s). And remained abandoned, neglected...and was a favourite place for me to explore. Then in 2010 it was slated for restoration, and slowly was rebuilt. I got in only once to see the stripped out core, then left her be. It reopened to the public 2012, restored to her former glory. Last Saturday I happened to be in Hamilton and grabbed a shot of her.
