Well, I for one, would NOT be without mine!
A super light lens that's ready to shoot when you are. Especially on a day out with the kids and you have to be fast to capture the mixture of emotions that are going on.
These are from our trip to Blackpool last year. You can probably remember some of these, and my 50mm was the only good lens I had at the time.
Not a bad thing judging by the shots I got

By the time we were getting to the end of our trip to the Zoo, the lack of energy was starting to show lol...

Some oldies but goodies ALi!! That first one of Wesley is one of my favorites of all time. I hadn't seen the ones of the energy drained out, they are great. You make a very good point about the 50mm. It's light and fast and great for a trip like this.

Well let's face it, you don't have to think about whether your IS is set to the correct distance. Plus I have to put my left arm across my body and rest my 70-200 on my forearm. It's just too heavy for a day out.

My normal walk about is the 28-70 f2.8, which is one heavy piece of glass as well. I am starting to be a convert to the 50 because of the weight if nothing else.

Since I haven't posted for a while I figured I had better at least throw one of mine here. This is from a wedding last Saturday that I performed for a young couple in our church.

Aaron, your shots are looking amazing! Keep it up.

Great shot Ray! It's good to see you posting again. Haven't seen you around in a while. Hope all is well. Thanks for the compliment on my shots too. They're starting to come around but, I feel I still have a very long way to go. It's alright, I'm still having fun and learning/trying new things which is what it's all about right? Take care of yourself Ray and don't be afraid to drop by every once in a while with some of those great Canonet shots you take

    Thanks Aaron and OT!

OT, this was shot in Landscape mode but converted to b/w in my RAW software, ISO 400, f/1.8 @ 100, center weighted metering.

Aaron, haven't picked up my Canonet in a while. I'm slacking! lol Actually, I've just been working a lot and haven't had much time for photography. However, I just might be hired to do a wedding before the end of December. Cha-ching! :)

Thank you! I took some shots and looked at them on the camera, and they look amazingly sharp! I'll pop the Card in after Christmas Dinner, though.

Hmm... I thought I got rid of that ages ago... Oh well, like I said I haven't put anything up yet. I'll be putting pictures up after Christmas Dinner, though.

I wasn't walking about but here is a 50mm portrait. 1600 f/2.8. Don't remember my shutter speed. Available light. Converted to b&w in photoshop.

Great addition to the thread Brian. Love those gorgeous eyes. Thanks for reviving an old thread. Makes me want to dig the 50mm out of it's pouch, buckle it up and start snapping away. You made me review this whole thread there are some very nice images here.

Thanks Larry. This was just a quick grab yesterday while I was babysitting for a few minutes. I brightened her eyes just a touch in photoshop to give them just a little more pop.

Uau! This thread really made my heart run faster.

I hope I will make a more proper entrance later this week, after I get my hands on those 50mm lens.

Congrats on a very well done job!

    OK Finally!

I was waiting for something postworthy, and I think I've got it. I think a crop to get rid of the black on the side wouldn't hurt, but I like posting raw images on here.
