Thinking of a camera adapter for my 114x900mm telescope.

Has anyone had any experience with getting an adapter for a camera and mounting it on the eye piece of a telescope?

I've been thinking about it for the longest time, and am not sure if it is worth it. But now I have 2 options. Either get an SLR adapter for my 35mm Konica Autoreflex T3 (which I'll probably have to modify some current type or hope a Sony adapter fits) or buy a 58mm adapter to use on my Sony F717.

What I would eventually love to do is get shots of the Sun.
Here is a simple little silly test shot of the moon.

OMSI shop does sell some camera adapters, but the quickest way is to find the local telescope (astronomy) club and they should know reliable dealers to order the adapter from and help you install the adapter.

Ha! I never even thought about going to the astronomy club for help. I got one that meets in small park 10 minute walking distance from my house. Heck, they might even have things themselves that they sell. Thx!

Do a google search for "digiscoping" and you'll find lots of information.

I've seen some good results. However, I think most people use spotting scopes with point-and-shoot digitals.

For astronomical work, you'll need tracking controls.

http://www.digiscoped.com/ seems to be a nice site full of great info. Thanks for the term, Loupey!
