What type of fabric would you use for curtains..

Hi all, I'm [utting together my photography studio, my walls are painted a light grey, but I want to put up black and white curtains that will cover all walls as well so I have a choice of bouncing my light of grey wall or black or white when I pull those curtains around the room. I've heard of people doing this but no one has mentioned what kind of fabric they are using for the curtains. Is muslin the best for bouncing light off of? I looked into velvet but it's very expensive and I'm gonna need about 25 meters of each color so I'm looking at 800$ for velvet curtains eeks. Does anyone have suggestions of what kind of fabric would be best to make these curtains?

suedecloth is very similar to velvet, and a little cheaper. i'm a big fan of linen, myself, although have never bounced light off it.
    I sleep, but I don't rest.
