I've been into photography for the past 10-12 years, but never got serious enough to set up a "psuedo studio" in my home for anything. The lighting always seemed so expensive and for me, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze.
I was cruising around eBay today looking for a chroma background for a video project and noticed this one company had lighting kits for REALLY cheap. They are called Still Shot 2 and supposedly, they are the exclusive distributor. Now, I know you get what you pay for... but can anyone with some lighting experience please tell me if this stuff is crap or if for the money it's worth it? I'm looking at either the dual umbrella set up or the dual softbox setup. I figure that's all I'd need to make the lighting a little better for staged photos and portraits. Remember, I'm not looking for full on professional stuff, just to make the lighting better.
