    Setting up a backdrop stand

I just received a new backdrop stand for Christmas, which one would think should be easy enough to set up (so I wasn't surprised that it didn't come with instructions). However, I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the muslin clips on.

Basically, the package came with two oversized light stands (with a gold top like can be seen in this picture), a long, extendible pole that the backdrop hangs from, and two clips similar to those seen here.

How do I attach those two clips to the top pole?

Any help would be appreciated. There's nothing on the web yet that I could find.

I'll attach more pictures if necessary.

What I do is drape the fabric over the crossbar, and use the clamps as you would clothes pins on a laundry line.

BTW, two is probably not going to be enough, which is why I use super cheap metal clamps (with plastic tips) from Lowes or Home Depot...

Hah! Didn't even think of that, but that's got to be the way! Thank you.
