    Rate Sheet?

Who's got a rate sheet? Can ya show me so I can pinch it and make my own?

I was also thinking about making a bunch of generic photo documents and forms and posting downloadable versions here. What do you guys think of that?

    Thanks!

    Re: Rate Sheet?

    That'd be cool to have.

(Disclaimer: I've never used these, but I've got them) I have a copy of a model release & property release that I downloaded off the net from somewhere. I could email them to ya or post them somewhere, I have them in PDF form

    Re: Rate Sheet?

I would't mind seeing rate sheets. My wife claims that I need to start charging for my portrait sittings or she won't let me get any new toys. The nerve of some people. I can supply a copy of the release that we use at the school and with the PR firm that my wife own and I own if need be.

    Funny

    How "pro" are you losers!

It's funny that none of us supposed "professional" photographers have a rate sheet. Looks like I might just have to be the sucker that makes one. I've been looking at other photographers' Web sites and getting an idea of what to do. This came up because someone asked me for one a couple of weeks ago. Usually I just quote some prices. But I thought that would be cheesy since they asked for a rate sheet.

Give me a week or so.

Incidentally, I thought I posted a reply to SmartWombats post yesterday. But I don't see it now. Anyone else have any posts disappear like that? What it said was, yes - like model releases. But I also have an idea about a contract to add to the end of an e-mail when you send someone images via e-mail. It would be a combination of what stock houses used when they sent stock film out, and the kind of privacy text you see at the end of e-mails from employees at big corporations. Basically, " here's a picture, if you use it you agree to pay me X." I've checked a bit and it would be legally binding and some much needed protection for photographers. I've used something like it before. But I was going to get a lawyer to actually write it. I've got a law firm that is interested in participating and contributing to this forum in return for credit and a bit of promotion.

That's very good, I was going to mention the legal aspect of releases and such, where some photographic associations provide forms for their members.

Now that I'm getting all business like and professional, this would be something I would love to see... because I'm clueless! Thanks P-J, I'll keep my eye on this thread.

    Re: Funny

    Dear Mr. Shafer,

In regards to your request for a quote regarding the project under discussion, I am enclosing a quote for your consideration.

Please be advised that this is valid for a minimum period of thirty days, and that the individual items broken out of the quote for your reference are our current standard pricing.

The total will be less as there are included items in the individual day rates, and that since this is for a multiple day shoot, that the liability coverage is computed differently.

As you will note, travel and non shooting day expenses are to be considered separately. There is also the matter of the final decision as to how you wish to take delivery or if it is to be delivered directly to your printer.

    Sincerely,

    C.D. Price

[ I'll send you the rest of a sample quote. I actually have a spreadsheet/database that generates the quotes. ]

    Re: Rate Sheet?

I know its a rate sheet thread, but here are 2 releases that I have, but I have never used. SO, if you use them, its not my fault if anything goes wrong

I pulled them from a website that was linking it to another website, and I don't have a clue what either website was.

Well, looks like we cant upload documents, so if you're interested in seeing them, send me a PM or email. They are in PDF format. One is 9kb, and the other is 77kb so it won't clog up your email.

It's easy Alison. As soon as someone pays you for your work, you crossed the line. All good "Pros" will always tell you that they never really stop learning.
