Metz flashes, good or no good?

The past two weeks I've been trying to decide on the right flash for my Canon. I know there is the 580EX and the 430 but they are really expensive. I've been researching a couple of the off brands and I read a really good review of this model from Metz

Just wondered if anyone here has an opinion on Metz flashes. The review I read compared it to the 580Ex at less than half the cost.

I bought a Metz 58 AF-2 for my micro 4/3 cameras, I'm very happy with it so far.
It works better with the Panasonic than with the Olympus, but a total surprise it works with the XZ-1 as well!

Thanks Wombat! I have heard similar things so I think I'm gonna get it. If nothing else we'll be the Metz beta testers!
