    Re: Lighting Advice

Welcome to the group. You can learn a lot by reading the threads in this section and then trying to duplicate some of the shots. Trying to do what you see here will help you develope your own sense of style. Getting a few books on lighting and posing couldn't hurt either. First a few questions. 1. How long have you been shooting? Do you understand the basics of shutter speed and aperture and how they combine to make an exposure? Can you manipulate those variables to shoot what you see in your head?
What kind of toys do you currently have? Any training in photography?

Good luck with your picture taking, this is a great place to learn.

    Re: Lighting Advice

    Hi Michael,
I have been shooting for the past 3 yrs. Yes I understand shutter speed, apeture, ISO etc. No, no training. I have my background support system and a few props. Working on backgrounds. But really need to start looking at lighting systems.
What I'm looking for are some brand names and/or models to look for.
    Thanks,
    Amber

I don't shoot for a living, so I use the alien bees. You could check out their website at www.alienbees.com. They are part of the Paul C. Buff company that also manufacture the White Lightning brand of lighting gear.
