First studio shoot coming up, need some help!

Hey guys,
This is my first time posting in the studio lighting forum, so i guess i should introduce myself first!

My name is Matt. I live in Tallahassee, FL and I am a 25 year old human being, but a 2 1/2 year old photographer.
I work with a clothing company I am invested in, and am holding the first real photoshoot in the next few days.

I have a 3 piece lighting system set up...4 if you count my home made softbox....

Anywho, let's get to it.

The lighting system i have is 3 continuous softboxes (2 on straight stands, 1 on an adjustable boom stand), and 1 homemade box made to fit my Sony external flash.

I am going to be doing individual portraits, as well as photos with as many as 10 people involved.

What would be the best placement for the 3 continuous softboxes?

any help or links to external sites/forum sites to help would be absolutely amazing!

Asylum Steve usually has the best advice for studio stuff since, well thats what he does.
For the group I would put one light on either side of the camera at about a 45 degree angle to the group. If you notice cross shadows on people's facing, you can move them in closer to the camera. You can hang the one on the boom arm above & behind the group as a hairlight.

For the individuals, I'd move the lights so you would have one in front of the model, and a little bit higher so there is a little shadow under the nose. Take your second light and put it directly below the first but leaving a little gap for you to shoot through. Again, the 3rd light would be on the boom above 7 behind as a backlight.
