Elinchrom S and Elinchrom 220 Experience Anyone?

    Hi,
I did a studio shoot last night with Elinchrom S and 220 Powerbox. For the life of me I couldnt get the F-stop set correct.

I had the lights setup with key light at 45 degrees to model and fill light distant at my anticipated 3:1 ratio.

I plugged my polaris light meter into the sync cable and just had the key light on. At shutter 60 I took a reading. It came back with a massive reading of 75. There are some sliders on the 220 that are supposed to reduce and increase the F-stop (well I think so anyway). However these made no difference on subsequent readings.

Do any of you kinds fellows and lasses have any experience with this kit?

What was your ISO set at? Check the back of the strobe and see if there is a switch to activate the manual adjustments. Sometimes you have to push the switch and then mess with the slider or dial. Last but not least, you can always back up the light. And drop stops that way. We have some of this companies hot lights in our theater but not strobes.
