    close and wide product shot

Just started. I'm helping my brother take PIZZA pictures for large window posters. We'd like it to be very sharp and professional looking since Dominos is just across the street.

We have a Canon SLR and an EF 100mmf3.5 Macro lens. We'll be studying lighting next.

But before we go any further, are we starting with the right equipment. Bottom line, can we achieve PRO quality results with our starting camera and lens?

Our goal is to produce something like what Pizza Hut has on their web site. http://www.pizzahut.com
Can we come up with a sharp closeup of a pizza and also a wide shot of pizza with sides drinks etc. using the lens we have?

    Help.

Re: close and wide product shot

My personal opinion is if you want that type of result and a poster size of it you should seek out a product photographer that's done this type of work. I'm sure he will then hire a food stylist. Which you'll have to pay for too. If it will improve your business, it's worth the expense.

The lighting is not hard, but it's not as simple as it looks either. Then it may even require a rail system to get the size and sharpness you want. Again, a local product photographer will have all the equipment necessary to get your desired reslut.

You can probably hang out while the shot is being done and learn a lot.
