    Girls Varsity BB from tonight

Here's a couple from the girls varsity game tonight. The South girls lost, but they have improved tremendously this year with a new coach and no seniors. The first of 4 games on tap for me this week.

#1 definitely looks young (maybe frosh/soph) for a varsity team. That is a very busy week, 4 games - in NJ, it is against the state rules to play 4 games in a week.

The shadows have gotten the best of these photos. #1's face has that smudged shadow, but they are both great action shots.

Looking forward to the rest of the week.

The very first shot that shadow on the face looks like a mask, other than that you always have great shots, maybe it's that D50 you're using to take those shots.

VinnyC01: She's a 7th grader who plays on the varsity and is one of the leading scorers! The 4 games I'm doing for the papers this week are 4 different teams.

Chris: The D50 definitely helps! With the high flash sync I don't have to try and overpower the ambient light so I can use hotshoe flashes which are a lot faster to set up and lighter/easier to carry around.

Strobing a ball game has it's advantages and disadvantages. The big advantage here is great color and good stop action. Well done Daniel.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

The shadows don't bother me a bit. In fact, I like them. They give these photos some snap and definition that's usually missing in gymnasium sports photos. I also like how the flash has really made the colors pop.
